Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox Robinsonville Concert reviews
Counting Crows in Pittsburgh were wonderful
I was greeted first at the meet and greet by the awesome Dennis "the Dude" Woods who remembered me. After the 30+ minute rehearsal, during which Adam was making jokes, we lined up for the meet and greet. I saved Adam for last, thanking him for playing my request in Robinsonville, Rain King, and asking him to play Round Here for me. The guys were impressed that I knew all their names. He recognized me from the week before and said "hey, crazy girl." Dan Vickrey said "burn" and the entire band laughed, including Adam. I went through shaking everyone's hand and calling them by name, including Jim Bogios, who I referred to as "a fellow Greek." He asked my last name and I told him. I thanked him for taking care of me and doing an excellent job at the merch tent. I spoke to Dennis briefly and we were puzzled about the fights, with him being frazzled. When I returned home yesterday, I posted my thanks on Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox Facebook page for playing "Round Here" in English and Greek. Jim Bogios responded with a lovely comment, addressing me by my first name. The Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox took the stage and launched into Round Here, during which time Adam winked at me and I yelled "Thanks Jim." What kind of people get into a fight at a Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox concert? Unfortunately, a fight broke out and people were talking during the concert. After the second fight broke out, Adam stopped singing and told the crowd they could fight or he could sing. I could see he was not happy and was not surprised when the band played "Hangin' Around" and left the stage. The encore was a new song, "Palisades," then my beloved "Rain King," and finally "Holiday in Spain," the closer. The fights and talking made it a short set. Adam said to talk to the Greek and I asked Jim Bogios if he would put Round Here on the setlist. He said he'd try to "do it for the Greeks" and we discussed Greece in the World Cup for a few seconds. It was a great experience with my favorite band, all of whom I consider friends.
